My name is Matthew Gomez, I am a first generation college student at Cal State Fullerton. I am currently majoring in history and minoring in political science in order to become a high school history/government teacher! My goal is to be the first in my family to study abroad! By studying abroad I can grow my independence, knowledge, and resourcefulness in order to become the best possible teacher in the future. I love supporting my community and helping those around me. Any support is greatly appreciated and would mean the world to me! As a first generation student and American I often times feel like I am at a disadvantage when it comes to help or guidance, however regardless of the challenges I face I try to work super hard in both school and my business to show my sisters anything is possible. I want to show my sisters and other first generation students that through hard work, determination, and resilience we can reach places we once thought were impossible.
