When it rains, it pours! Between losing dear friends, a broken leg, and cold that wouldn't go away, I thought that things would start to get better. God had a different plan!

On Sunday evening 09/29/2024, my son Matthew was getting ready to go to bed, he hollered good night to me and then went to give our dog Bubba a pat on the belly goodnight. For reasons we will never know, Bubba attacked Matt in the face and Matthew had to pry him off. We immediately went to Carson Valley Medical Center's emergency room, where they determined that the wounds were out of their league. They set up transport by ambulance to Renown Medical Center in Reno. At Renown Matthew was seen by a Plastic Surgeon and an Ocular Plastic Surgeon. Matthew had over 36 stitches to his one eye and then had to have surgery and a multitude of stitches in his other eye where the surgery site is. Bubba also broke Matthew's nose in two areas.

Matthew has no insurance and financially I cannot help due to my own setbacks. He will be out of work for at least a month if not longer because of the location of the surgery site, his vision, and his eye and duct function.

Due to the severity of the bite and the manner of the attack we also had to put our beloved 7-year old dog Bubba down where animal control will be testing for rabies, another unexpected expense we had to take on.
