On December 13th, Matthew Wang, a beloved member of the Clover Hill High School community and a freshman at Brown University, was injured in a mass shooting at Brown. He sustained two gunshot wounds—one to his lung and another to his lower body. Thanks to excellent medical care, Matthew is currently in stable condition, and his doctors are encouraged by his progress. Still, his injuries are serious, and his recovery will require ongoing treatment and rehabilitation.
Matthew is known for his gregarious spirit, sharp wit, and incredible talent. He was preparing for his finals and looking forward to completing his first semester at Brown when this tragedy occurred. His friends and family are heartbroken, but they are also deeply grateful for the outpouring of compassion, prayers, and support from the community.
The road ahead will be long, with many weeks and months of both mental and physical rehab. The funds raised will help the Wang family manage medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and other needs as they focus on Matthew’s healing. Please donate what you can to support Matthew and his family during this difficult time. Your generosity and kindness will make a real difference in his recovery.
All funds from this fundraiser will go directly to the Wang family to help offset medical expenses.
