Matthew Wall is a vibrant 21-year-old who has always embraced life with ambition and determination. He is a Corporal in the Marine Reserves, a mechanic at John Deere, and is pursuing his college education—all while enjoying his passions for fishing, hunting, working on his truck, working out and staying active. On Wednesday the 15th, after his truck broke down, Matthew rode his motorcycle to work. Tragically, a car pulled in front of him, causing a collision that left him with a T6 spinal injury, a fractured wrist, and other serious complications. He was airlifted to Medical City Plano, where he remains in the ICU, facing multiple surgeries and a challenging recovery. Despite these hardships, Matthew’s spirit shines through, and he’s already showing signs of improvement, surrounded by the support of friends, family, and fellow Marines.

Matthew’s family is now navigating an overwhelming situation. They are caring for elderly parents while trying to adapt their home for Matthew’s needs, including making it handicapped accessible and preparing for his future physical therapy at Baylor in Plano. Baylor is the best hospital to give Matthew the greatest chance of recovering his ability to walk, and his family is determined to get him the care he needs. With his insurance at risk and mounting medical expenses, the family is struggling to cover hospital costs, therapy, and essential equipment like an adjustable bed, electric wheelchair, and a handicapped vehicle with a lift. They want to give Matthew every opportunity to regain independence and pursue his passions, but they can’t do it alone.
