Matthew Kargol has been a beloved art teacher at Oskaloosa Senior High School and a driving force behind many art initiatives in Oskaloosa. Through his dedication, he helped countless people find acceptance and belonging through the arts, bringing sculptures, murals, and even an art center to the community. His passion for art and education has touched the lives of so many, making Oskaloosa a more vibrant and inclusive place.

On September 17th, 2025, Matthew was wrongfully terminated from his teaching position for exercising his first amendment rights on social media. This sudden and unexpected loss of income has put a significant strain on his family. To make matters more challenging, Matthew suffers from spinal nerve damage and chronic pain, which limits his ability to work in many jobs. Despite these hardships, he remains a pillar of strength and inspiration to those around him.

Now, Matthew and his family need our help. The funds raised will go directly toward helping them pay bills and manage daily expenses until Matthew can secure a new job opportunity.
