Support Matthew Hawkins in Health Crisis

Dear friends and community of Matthew Hawkins,

We are reaching out to you because Matt is currently in a major health crises and needs some support. He came down with the flu (Influenza A) about a week and a half ago and within a couple days became very sick and was admitted to hospital with viral pneumonia. He was so ill that he had to be put into a medical coma and intubated (put on a ventilator) on April 17th. He has not regained consciousness yet and the longer he is sedated on the vent, the more complications arise, and the longer recovery will be. We are hoping for the best outcome, despite the sobering odds, and we hope you will all join us in helping to support him.

Matt is a devoted father to 3 young kids, and a dear friend to many of us. He is one of the kindest and most generous people any of us know, and is always willing to help others however he can. It would be so great for him to wake up to a wave of love and support from all of us!

Every little bit adds up, so please give what you can, if you can. And please share this fundraiser with anyone you know who is connected to Matt.

Matt's recovery, once he is out of the woods, will likely take a significant amount of time (possibly months). It's impossible to know how this will all play out, so we are setting the goal at $10,000 to start, with the hope that he makes a strong/quick recovery, but we may well need to raise it as time goes on. We will keep everyone updated here on any changes in his condition.
