On July 12, 2024 our family's lives changed forever. To even begin to describe what Matthew Fantauzzi meant to his family, friends, and acquaintances would be an endless story.
Matthew was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend to many. His selflessness, loyalty and kindness touched countless individuals throughout his time here on earth. He was one of one. Matt was someone whom when others spoke, he listened. He gave genuine advice and had knowledge of many things; A respected man who’s opinions were important. Matthew was a true jack of all trades, his talent stack was broad and his skills were many. Matt had a huge heart and would give the shirt off his back if it meant he could help someone in need. When he wasn't working diligently with his general contracting (a true master craftsmen), Matt enjoyed cruising Saratoga Lake on Baby Doll, the family's prized Chris Craft. On July 3rd Matt put Baby Doll back into the water after concluding a 3 month full restoration project. He did every aspect of the restoration himself, a true testament to his abilities and know-how. Matthew enjoyed landscaping and keeping the grounds of the lake house immaculate. He and his husband Aaron were quite a team. Together they hosted many gatherings and parties. The joy of camaraderie was always on full display while family and friends conversed, swam, ate and toasted together. Laughter was plenty as jokes would fly abundantly. It was always time well spent at the Fantauzzi family home. Matthew will forever be greatly missed, his memory and spirit will be carried forward by all who loved him.
Matthew was surrounded by many loved ones; husband and best friend Aaron, mother Kathy, brother Daniel and a large number of relatives and friends. In keeping with Matthew's faith and loving and generous spirit, it was his decision to donate life so that others may live. His heart was successfully transplanted to a 44 year old man and his lungs to a 68 year old man.
As a result of this unspeakable tragedy, astronomical medical costs and other unforeseen costs have accrued; If willing and able, we are asking for your help in lending support to Matthew's family to help cover such costs. No matter how large or small, each donation makes an impact. Together we can facilitate a less stressful transition process for Matthew’s family. We greatly appreciate and honor any help gifted during this extremely difficult time. We love you Matt!
