Our beloved brother and uncle, Matthew de la Torre, embarked on what was meant to be an adventure in Ireland, only to find himself in a traumatic medical crisis. During his travels, Matthew fell seriously ill. Some kind strangers found him collapsed and got him medical help. He is currently being hospitalized. The doctors do not know the full extent of his medical condition, the duration of his hospitalization, or when he can return home. They know he is suffering from an unknown infection, serious kidney issues, and the onset of Rhabdomyolysis, a distressing muscle syndrome, on constant oxygen, and a heart monitor, among other things. The doctors are doing their best to prevent him from needing dialysis.
We have initiated this GoFundMe campaign to alleviate the financial burden that accompanies Matthew's medical crisis. Your generosity will directly contribute to a multitude of needs. In addition to medical costs, with an uncertain timeline for his return to health and work, rent and basic living expenses weigh heavily on our minds.
