Support Matthew and Celina's High-Risk Delivery

It is through much difficulty that I’m reaching out today to humbly ask for your help. First off, the good news: my wife Celina and I will have our first baby…this Friday! However, as we’ve been trying to welcome our first child into the world, we’ve been met with a great many challenges. I’ve been very reluctant to ask for help, but many others have urged me to do this.

In case you didn’t know, I live overseas with my wife Celina. Our son will be born this Friday, but things are very different here than they are in America…

The hospitals won’t deliver the baby until we pay a massive deposit first. They won’t even admit her until it’s first paid. Moreover, at check out, they insist on the full payment of the remainder of the bill. The birth of the baby is estimated to cost around $5,750 USD.

She’s had a high-risk pregnancy. We’ve spent very nearly $10,000 USD already due to medical complications and baby preparation along the way during the pregnancy (and we don’t earn USD, so that’s a FORTUNE to us), so what savings we had is now completely depleted, and we’re even pretty deep in debt.

In addition to previous problems, Celina has now been diagnosed with preeclampsia. Also, much to our grief, our baby has stopped growing due to complications. They want to deliver the baby prematurely (one month early) by C-section.

In addition, our insurance won’t help with ANYTHING. Here, they do insurance differently. Normal insurance won’t cover ANYTHING pregnancy or delivery related. Here, only “pregnancy insurance” helps. We were denied pregnancy insurance due to health complications. We’re frustrated but trying to keep hopeful.

After all that, and as newlyweds figuring out life as responsibly as we can, we just have to admit we don’t have an additional $5,750 in savings.

We know you all work and have your own problems. It takes a lot for me to ask. It truly does. We truly wouldn’t come forward like this unless it involved our baby.

We’re asking for 6000 to cover the GoFundMe fees, currency conversion fees, and transfer fees. We anticipate we will actually need more considering the baby will be premature. We may raise the goal more as the NICU charges are told to us. For now, just being able to get in the door of the hospital is what we’re trying to achieve.

GoFundMe is setting the amount for $2600 as a first goal. I’ll change the amount as we reach that goal because we actually need more to meet our need.

We would be thankful for your fervent prayer for us, as well as any financial gifts. Please SHARE this GoFundMe! We thank you from the bottom of our heart for helping shower our baby with love before he arrives!

With love,
Matthew, Celina, and our precious baby boy
