Dear friends, family, and community,
On Saturday, January 19th, at 8:30 am, our world was turned upside down as a fierce fire ravaged my father Matthew's business workshop and apartment, both housed in a single building in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. My father, who was upstairs in his apartment area at the time, heard the smoke detector downstairs, the business area of the workshop. Upon opening the door to the downstairs area, the air was engulfed in thick black smoke. With incredible courage, he attempted to suppress the flames with a fire extinguisher, but the fire grew larger.
He immediately fled from the scene, with only his phone, wallet, and the clothes on his back, and called emergency services. As he waited for the firefighters to arrive, the flames grew larger and larger and with time the entire building was on fire. Miraculously, no one was injured in this incident, for which we are truly grateful and thank God for.
The devastation is profound – everything in that building, from personal mementos to essential business items for his company Langelier Printing, has been reduced to ashes. The impact is not only emotional but also financial, as my father now faces the daunting task of rebuilding his life from scratch.
How You Can Help:
We are reaching out to our community in a time of need. Any funds raised through this campaign will be dedicated to providing Matthew with the support he requires to piece his life back together. Here's where your generous contributions will make a significant difference:
* Housing: The immediate priority is to secure temporary housing for Matthew as he navigates the process of finding a new permanent residence. He is currently staying in hotels as we have no other place for him to go.
* Essential Living Expenses: Your donations will assist in covering day-to-day living expenses, such as food, clothing, and other immediate necessities.
Your contribution, no matter how small, will go a long way in providing him with the resources needed to recover from this devastating setback.
Let's come together as a community to help Matthew rise from the ashes and rebuild a life filled with hope, joy, and possibility. Your generosity will not only ease the burden but also serve as a powerful reminder that, in times of crisis, compassion and solidarity prevail.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Langelier Family
