Hi,

My name is Matteo, I am a historian and archaeologist. I have been living in Italy for several years, for both sentimental and study reasons. I have in fact decided to follow an archaeological career and I have been participating in numerous excavation sites for some time now, particularly in Rome.

To make a living, I did many small jobs. However, the one that has given me the most, professionaly and humanly, is certainly being a tour guide. In addition to tours offered for friends and families, I have organized small tours in the Eternal City, Rome, via the Airbnb platform. I would like to really make a living from it by organizing larger tours. Unfortunately, in Italy the profession is accessible only with a licence, which has been closed for many years now. However, there are training courses giving access to the profession (by getting the licence in other country and convert it in Italy, which is totally legal). However, they are tremendously expensives. The most important and serious is around 5,000 euros for eight months of training, including, at the end of it, a license. Unfortunately I can't afford it. The crowfunding would be used for paying the training fee and all its relative costs.

This is why I am calling for your support. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a competent and passionate amateur guide. My reviews on Airbnb are among the best on the platform (5 stars for over 200 reviews). I am certain that my skills could be appreciated on a wider scale and thus allow me to live with dignity from this splendid profession, telling the story of my beautifull Rome to anyone who wishes.
