Support Matt Merritt's Journey to Recovery

Hello everyone,

Our names are Alyssa Herres and Lorrianne Scotto, and we are creating this fundraiser to support our dear friend, Matthew (Matt) Merritt, during one of the most challenging times of his life.

Many of you know that Matt has recently faced a series of serious and life-altering medical events. On May 5th, he began experiencing dizziness and fainted. He took himself to urgent care, and an ambulance transported him to the hospital. There, doctors discovered two aneurysms in his brain, as well as evidence that he had suffered a stroke.

These diagnoses came with a host of complications, including persistent dizziness upon standing, a significant loss of sensation on one side of his body, and the inability to speak or swallow. After further evaluations, it was determined that Matt would need brain surgery to secure the aneurysms and prevent them from worsening—a procedure that quite literally saved his life. Despite how serious his condition was, Matt’s strength and determination never wavered.

On May 13th, Matt underwent a major brain surgery, which was thankfully successful. The aneurysms were secured, and the long road to recovery has now begun. Matt is currently relearning essential functions such as how to swallow and walk. Though he is making progress, he continues to suffer from dizziness and changes in vision, and it’s still uncertain how long his recovery will take.

Unfortunately, this extended healing process has also led to a significant financial burden. Matt is unable to work due to the severity of his condition, and with everyday bills continuing to add up, the stress is mounting. Our goal with this fundraiser is to help ease the financial strain so Matt can focus entirely on healing and returning to his role as the amazing, devoted father he has always been.

All contributions will go toward covering medical expenses, equipment needed for his care at home, and basic living expenses while he is out of work.

Matt wants everyone to know how grateful he is for the outpouring of love and support. Every donation, message, and gesture means the world to him and to all of us standing beside him during this time.
