Critical Medical and Living Support for Matt Johnson. Story written on behalf by friends and family.

Hi, my name is Matt Johnson. I currently live with my elderly mother so I can help her afford a mortgage and living expenses. My cats are my children, and I have a sister and nephew that I love with all my heart.

On January 4th, I was rushed to the hospital because I was having problems breathing. What we all thought was the flu quickly turned into me fighting for my life. Before the night was over, I was in critical condition and no longer conscious. By the next morning, the doctors discovered I had a blockage in my digestive tract, and emergency surgery was needed because it had gone septic. Fast forward 2 days, and I had lost most of my digestive system and was still not conscious.

Since the 4th, my family and friends have witnessed a miracle in the making. The situation has gone from no one expecting me to make it through the night to stabilizing. I am still not out of the woods, and the fight is far from over. I have a long road in front of me with recovery, recovery therapy, and learning what the new norm will be for my life. This is going to keep me from getting back to work and helping support my mother.
