Support Matt Blevins' Fight for Sight

Our community has always known Matt Blevins as the friendly face who has faithfully served Anchorage as our Republic Services Employee for over 25 years. His kindness, dedication, and warm smile have brightened our streets and lives. But this past June, while on a family vacation at the lake, Matt experienced a sudden and devastating medical emergency. His vision became blurry one day, and by the next morning, he was completely blind in one eye.

Since that day in June, Matt has been in and out of the hospital, undergoing multiple eye surgeries in a fight to regain his sight. His journey is far from over, with more surgeries, cataract evaluations, and treatments still ahead. Unfortunately, his vision remains very limited, and his return to work is uncertain, potentially delayed until November or even longer.

Matt has always been there for us, and now it’s our turn to be there for him. The medical bills are mounting, and with Matt unable to work, the financial strain on his family is immense. We’re reaching out to our community to help ease this burden and support Matt’s recovery. Your donations will go directly towards Matt's medical expenses, ongoing treatments, and helping him and his family navigate this challenging time.
