Support Matt and Maggi Meyer
As many of you know, Matt and Maggi have been on a diffult journey after Matt's diagnosis with G.I.S.T in 2018. In May, a team at the National Institute of Health in Maryland decided to try a rare surgery to remove as many tumors as they could to 'reset' the clock on his cancer. The surgery was extremely risky and that proved true in the hours during and after, but Matt pulled through and immediately became a hero in all of our eyes. On his return trip to NIH, Matt encountered a number of setbacks and post-op issues including infections that required numerous procedures and many nerve-racking days and nights for him, Maggi and everyone that loves them. Through their journey, Maggi and Matt had another difficult road with IVF and after heart-breaking losses, are now expecting sweet baby Palmer in just a few weeks. Both Matt's return home and continued care with home healthcare, plus the arrival of sweet Palmer present an opportuity for family and friends to support them from afar. They are adamant that no one feel any pressure to donate, but after the many messages and texts I have received asking for ways to help (and I know other members of Maggi and Matt's families have received similar messages), many people are looking for ways to show their support during Matt's recovery and Palmer's arrival. This gofundme will help with Matt's home healthcare costs and cover meals during their transition home and after Palmer's arrival. Maggi and Matt are the friends/family that would be first in line to help someone they love and that's why so many of us want the opportunity to be there for them. Thank you for supporting Matt, Maggi and Palmer!
