We met in Los Angeles while working on the same television show in 2017. It wasn’t long before we started dating, and by the end of the year, we were a couple. Bonding over our innate ambition, late night philosophical debates, and love for culinary adventures, it was clear that this relationship was unique. We consider each other best friends and partners in the truest sense.

In 2020, we were forced by the pandemic to put a halt to our high-stress, fast-paced way of life. We started to build a different picture of what success meant. We weren’t married yet, but we knew that what we both wanted most was a family. We started trying for a child. What came next were years of testing, therapy, arguments, grief, and hope.

In 2021, at age 30, Lily began experiencing menopausal symptoms and was diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency, with no known cause. We were told that our only option for pregnancy was donor egg IVF.

In 2022, we got married and continued our journey to parenthood. Over the next year, we became registered foster parents through Los Angeles County but still have not received a single call for a child. After another consultation with our new fertility doctor, we decided to move forward with donor egg IVF. After 8 years together and a lifetime of dreaming about what kind of parents we could be, we are ecstatic to move forward with growing our family!

We are planning to begin IVF with a donor egg this summer. We have already been lucky enough to receive a $15k grant from the Baby Quest foundation, which will help to cover some of our costs. However, the total cost to pursue this will be around $34k—$50k. We hope to raise an additional $15k to assist with our fertility journey. We want to thank you for taking the time to read our story. TIMELINE
