Hello, my name is Lorna Smith. I am Alina and Matt's aunt.

I’m starting this GoFundMe for my niece and her husband, who are facing one of the hardest moments of their lives. With six young children at home, her husband has been in and out of the hospital and will be having major surgery to fix a severe intestinal blockage on December 2nd. He’s already been out of work—unpaid—for over a month, and doctors expect he’ll spend 2–3 weeks in the hospital and another 2–3 months recovering.

During this time, my niece will be home caring for all six kids, working from home, and handling every household responsibility alone. She may even have to take unpaid time off to make sure their children are cared for. She’s doing everything she can to keep their family together, but the emotional and financial strain is becoming overwhelming. They are a humble, hardworking family who never ask for help, but right now they truly need support.

We’re hoping to ease the burden of medical bills, monthly expenses, and essentials for their children so they can focus on his healing and staying strong as a family.
