Many of you know Matt Bechstein as a loving husband, son, father, sibling, friend. Growing up in Delta throughout his adolescence and then moving to Liberty Center High School and Four County Career Center to complete his high school career. Matt has experienced many friendships throughout his years at Sauder Woodworking, Johns Mansville plant 1 and in his current position at Jeep Assembly Complex (JAC).
My name is Leigh Ann and I am helping raise funds for Matt, my mom Teresa married Matt in September 24th, 2023. He has been the best step-dad, and always treated me and my sisters like one of his own children. So we would like to do anything we can to help him in his time of need. Some of you may know and some may not but
Matt’s life took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with Myelofibrosis. Despite the emotional and physical toll, Matt showed incredible strength and resilience throughout the battle. Teresa chose early retirement to help with the care for Matt, not knowing that she herself would also be facing multiple surgeries including an emergency surgery.
Matt's journey started by undergoing extensive treatment. He then faced a crucial step to his recovery a life-saving transplant at the Cleveland Clinic on June 26th, 2024. The transplant has provided hope and a second chance at life, but the road to recovery is long and requires ongoing medical care, medications, and physical therapy. It also requires trips to the Cleveland Clinic frequently.
While Matt remains strong and determined, the financial burden of hospital bills, prescriptions, and other recovery expenses has become overwhelming. He is still unable to return to work and needs all the support he can get during this time.
We are reaching out to you, the wonderful community that Matt has touched, to help him during this challenging time. Your donations will go directly toward covering Matt’s medical expenses and living expenses and any contributions, no matter how small, will provide comfort and support.
Thank you for your generosity, love, and support. Your kindness means the world to Matt and his family, and it will make a significant impact on their recovery.
