Walcha's Year 10 student Matisse Pascoe has been given the incredible opportunity to represent both Walcha and Australia through the Rotary Youth Exchange program in 2027, she is proudly supported by the Rotary Club of Walcha.

Matisse is an amazing young lady and a 16 year old student at Walcha Central School. She has always thrived in the classroom, on the sporting field, and in leadership roles.

She has proudly represented Walcha in debating and public speaking through multiple levels of the school system, and has won countless awards across academics, agriculture, and sport.

Beyond her achievements, Matisse is an outstanding role model for younger students, with strong leadership skills, excellent citizenship, and a genuine care for others.

Matisse consistently goes out of her way to support younger students and give back to the community. One example of this is that every week, before playing her own touch football games, she volunteers her time to referee junior matches for younger players. This is just one of the many ways she quietly gives back and leads by example.

She is friendly, confident, community minded, and we have no doubt she will represent Walcha incredibly well during her exchange year.

Rotary Youth Exchange is a once in a lifetime opportunity, but it also comes with significant costs, including flights, insurance, travel, and living expenses throughout the year.
