Hi friends and new friends! I make music! Can you support me to record my album and share it with the world? <3

What would the earth say if we asked her? The oceans and rivers? The trees? The rocks? If we allow ourselves to embody the earth?

“The ground beneath me in tectonic shift. The ice is melting. Am I falling apart or into place?”

In the autumn of 2021 I was depleted, drained and burnt out. From full-time environmental activism, working with conflicts inside a social movement, and living through UK lockdown. Like our health, soils and ecosystems, I was in a serious crisis.

For four months I had to retreat to solitude in order to be all-one. I was very lucky to be able to stay in a friend’s cabin by the sea in Sweden. There, I broke open. I walked along the shore. I spoke mostly with birds, mushrooms and trees. I laid on cliffs for hours. I was still and waited…

“Let me be cleansed of this waste. Let the cycles or seasons change. Just some kind of movement. For softness to meet stone. Something to lean on. A sadness that only rocks can hold.”

I started writing songs. The process allowed me to really feel the emotions that I had been pushing down my whole life: grief, despair, anger, lostness. And also wonder, love, gratitude, care, beauty. I stayed with the ebb and flow of my emotions…

This album is about my journey of listening, burnout and transformation across 3 years.

“I awaken to transformation. Sharpening. Softening. Under pressure I give in. And the moon can take me. The moon can take me. Anywhere the rivers flow.”

I’m calling upon my friends and network to support me to record and produce this album. Even just a few £ (or £30 if you can) will fill me with gratitude and hold me accountable, meaning I commit to sharing my music with you <3

The 10 songs hold contemporary themes like climate crisis and biodiversity collapse, belonging, attachment, polyamory, personal and collective trauma, oscillation, dissociation, triggers, consent, healing, conflict, emergence, and mostly… the dance with uncertainty that is the responsibility bestowed upon my generation and anyone born during or after the 90’s.

I’ve therefore come up with a new genre name - Anthropocenic Burnout Music (ABM).

“A ravaging fire. Sun-drenched but starved. Expands into emptiness. A big black hole. It burns through everything. The smiles I’d saved. The smiles I saved.”

A wise activist said “activism isn’t activism without prayer”. These songs are my prayers that I’m sending out into the collective consciousness.

“Oh fare thee well. And I always wanted you to be free. May you be... wise and wild”

Can you support this album to be recorded and mixed professionally, so that anyone can listen, resonate, find meaning and take action, heal, or transform?

Your support would mean I can pay for the studio and the time and work of: the producer, cellist, saw player, double bassist, pianist, accordionist, percussionist, handpan player, flutist, and singers who could all add their magic into the mix if financially supported.

£2850 would cover the most basic and lowest costs for this to be possible (paying recording studio and producer a symbolic fee, as well as paying other musicians a symbolic fee for some of their time).

£3050 would also cover travel expenses and costs related to the recording.

£3100 and beyond would mean an increasingly more fair wage for the musicians and the producer. We could distribute the money amongst all people involved in a way that would actually support them better as musicians.

£3600 would mean paying it forward - some money could also go towards recording my newest songs and/or next album.

None of the options would go towards paying myself anything. I don’t anticipate earning money on my music at this point. But any extra money flow would go towards supporting me recording more songs in the future : )
