My name is Bobbi Woods, the director of our church’s newest initiative to tackle one of West Baltimore’s greatest educational challenges—low academic achievement among youth ages 6 to 13. Through this effort, we aim to equip our children with the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to thrive.

Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.”

We are excited to share that the Greater Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church (GBMBC) Math Club officially launched on Sunday, January 26th—HOORAY! Thanks to your prayers and encouragement, we are now one month into this transformative program, and the impact is already evident.

For those who may not know, GBMBC has partnered with Moore Math Genius (MMG) to bring an innovative and enriching math program to our youth. This initiative supplements their school curriculum with weekly live online tutoring, helping students master advanced mathematical concepts, discover the true origins of math, and gain valuable programming skills for the future. MMG has a proven track record of elevating students' math abilities in just one school year!

While we are off to a great start, we need your help to ensure every child has access to the tools they need to succeed. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to provide essential resources like laptops and tablets, which will allow our students to fully engage in their tutoring sessions, access educational software, and develop digital literacy skills crucial for their future success. Additionally, the funds will help cover the costs of their continued subscription to the online program, ensuring that they receive uninterrupted support and guidance throughout the school year.
