My name is Giray Okten, and I am organizing this fundraiser in my personal capacity to help three graduate students from the Math Department who were affected by the recent Ocala Road apartment fire. One student lost everything, another was able to save a phone and laptop, and a third student is still hospitalized and may not have property damage but will likely need financial assistance after discharge.

I am a faculty member in the Math department and raising funds privately for the students. All donated funds will be withdrawn to my personal bank account. I will distribute 100% of the money directly to each student based on their needs resulting from the fire. I will transfer the funds to them via Zelle, Venmo, or direct bank transfer.

This fundraiser is a private effort to provide immediate humanitarian support as these students work to recover and replace basic necessities. It is not sponsored by, endorsed by, or affiliated with Florida State University.
