Hello, I am Mateo's Grandma Bonnie, and I’m so devastated that my grandson has to get open-heart surgery in a few weeks. I’m starting a GoFundMe to help my daughter Ashley and son-in-law Edgar in this difficult time. My grandson is only 5 years old and will not be able to play contact sports and they are soccer family!

Mateo will have to have open-heart surgery for coarctation of the aorta. Mateo will need to stay in the hospital, and my daughter and son-in-law will stay in SF with him. It is going to be many weeks of recovery for Mateo to be his crazy loving Lego building kid. He will also have to have value replacement later on when he is a teenager.

This will help with any hospital fees, parking fees, hotels fees and time off work. Anything will help out.
