Hello, my name is Mateo, and this is my dog Whiskey. She was the sweetest girl, I got her on September 22nd, 2016. Everybody loved Whiskey, when she turned one year's old, we threw a party for her in the dorm lobby and 50 people came, and even brought her gifts like toys and clothes!

Whiskey was 9 years old, and I was set on her being in my life for at least 10 more years. On August 4th, 2025, at approximately 8:30pm, while walking Whiskey for a routine bathroom break, she was attacked by a much larger, meaner dog on the property. We have since learned through our leasing office that this dog was explicitly forbidden from being on the property, and the owners signed an addendum with the building saying that they would not own any pets while in their apartment.

The damages Whiskey faced in the attack were too severe, and at around 3:00am on August 5th, we made the excruciating decision to lay our baby girl to rest. Whiskey will forever be in our hearts, and all while we were at the emergency clinic, we were told that the owners of this dog should be responsible in covering her medical bills. The following day, we learned that was a much different story, as all we heard all day on the phone with police, animal control, and lawyers was that there was nothing anyone could do.

We are asking for donations to offset the financial burden as we grieve the loss of our baby girl, who meant the absolute world to us. Any bit would help and be greatly appreciated.
