Mastura Safayet and Yousuf Mahid met while studying Urban and Regional Planning at BUET. They are currently pursuing their PhDs at Texas A&M University and Cornell University, respectively, while building their lives together in the United States with their 15-month-old daughter, Yara.
Their world changed when Mastura was diagnosed with aggressive triple-negative breast cancer. Despite her extraordinary strength and resilience, the cancer has spread to her brain, and she is now in critical condition in the ICU.
