On late afternoon Friday, August 2, 2024, my 12 year old nephew was rushed to the burn unit in Minneapolis. At this time, we currently don't fully understand all of the events that led up to the accident that affected Mason who is now in a medically induced coma due to the extent of his injuries. The family (mom, dad, and 2 additional siblings) is unable to reside in their home due to the fire and smoke damage. We are raising funds for the family for emergency housing and the mountain of future medical bills that are associated with this type of injury. UPDATE 8/6/2024

Specific details are still unknown what caused the fire and resulting injuries. Mason is doing well, his eyesight and lung function are good considering the circumstances. He has 3rd degree burns on over 30% of his body. He continues to be on a ventilator and tube fed, as he's not fully awake. He'll likely be in the hospital for the next few months while the doctors determine what he'll require for skin grafts. The family is still unable to return home due to the extensive damage from the fire and smoke/water damage. Amanda and I currently have his 2 younger siblings with us for the foreseeable future. They are both in good spirits but miss Mason. We would like to extend our most sincere thanks for all of those who have donated money and various items.
