A little over a week ago, Jess’s world was turned upside down. Her son Mason suffered a grand mal seizure that lasted nearly 3 minutes. For those that don't know, Mason is autistic. He was rushed to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where he was admitted for emergency care. Imaging revealed a 4 cm tumor on the front of his brain. Mason underwent surgery Wednesday morning, which went well with no complications. While the surgery is behind them, the waiting game has now begun. The tumor has been sent to pathology, and the family has been told results could take up to 5 weeks to get the results back. Right now, Mason is home resting and recovering surrounded by the people who love him most.
As any parent can imagine, Jess’s focus right now is 100% on caring for Mason and being there for both her children. Because of this, she will be out of work for the foreseeable future, which will bring financial strain on the family during an already heartbreaking and stressful time. We are starting this fundraiser to help ease that burden. Funds raised will help with medical expenses, transportation costs, household bills, and day-to-day necessities while Mason continues his recovery and the family navigates the long unknown road ahead.
If you are able to donate, no matter the amount, it is deeply appreciated. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser and keeping Mason, Jess, and their family in your thoughts and prayers means just as much. Thank you all for helping support this family during one of the hardest moments of their lives.
