Support Mason's Recovery After Tragic Accident

Hello everyone, I am Emily, one of Kristen's best friends since first grade. On Monday July 8th I woke up to a nightmare of a text message stating "Em...I can't talk and there's no sense in anyone coming up here but I'm at Hopkins. Mason got in a bad accident". Kristen was informed by a knock on the door from police: every single parents nightmare. We are all thankful for Mason's life and that he survived. Mason was riding on a dirt/motor bike when he was struck by a vehicle. Although Mason had a helmet on he sustained significant injuries.

Mason is still in the Hospital and recently had surgery on his knee. Mason broke his leg on the opposite side which is causing significant difficulty in doing simple tasks. Mason has many more injuries that he is still dealing with on top of this. Unfortunately, Mason will need round the care clock for the coming months. Mason, once discharged, will have many doctors' appointments to attend, physical therapy and needs a wheelchair to do this as he can't use either leg. This is going to put a huge financial burden on the family. Kristen is a teacher and while they will be securing her job through FMLA she will be in a non-paid status as this is not her illness or injury.

I am starting this Go Fund Me to curb some of the burden the family is going to experience and already are experiencing. They are going to have many medical bills and co-pays on top of trying to make the mortgage, keep the lights on and afford to eat with no income coming in.
