Guys, this is just a momma trying to help Mason get back in the saddle. As many of you know, Mason bought his best boy, Saint, back in May to be his step-up, friend, and ride-or-die for many years to come. Mason worked hard to put the money together to get that horse. Unfortunately, at the playday last weekend, before even getting to dress up, Saint started struggling, had a heart attack, and passed. Thanks to some wonderful friends, he was brought home and laid to rest here at the house. Mason, being Asperger’s, though he missed Saint deeply, needs to keep moving forward, or I’m scared he won’t get on. We took him last night to meet Stella at a nearby rescue. At first, her energy made him a bit nervous, but by the end of the evening spent with her, she had bonded up to him and was following him around the round pen with no lead. He just looked at me and said, “I want this one, and she has a heart-shaped spot on her and a cross brand, mom, for Saint.” However, just buying Saint, he was not prepared for this cost. The adoption fee for her is only $500, added a little extra in travel money and because of some thin soles, to help him cover her first set of shoes. I would like to do this for Mason to help him recover from his tragic loss. If you feel it in your heart to donate, I would greatly appreciate it, as I know so would Mason.
