Help Mason Dubois Gear Up for Diesel Technology School!
Hi friends and family,
We’re proud to share that Mason Dubois has been accepted into the Diesel Technology program at Eastern Maine Community College this fall! He’s always had a passion for engines, machinery, and getting his hands dirty—and now, he's ready to turn that into a lifelong career in the skilled trades.
We’re excited to say that his tuition is completely free, thanks to Maine’s Free Community College program! But there are still major expenses that aren’t covered—including tools, a laptop, textbooks, housing, and a required meal plan—and that’s where we need your help.
Required Tools & Gear
Diesel Technology students must arrive with a full, professional-grade toolkit and personal protective equipment. These are not optional and must be purchased before the program begins.
Estimated cost: $6,000+
Tools include socket sets, wrenches, pliers, torque wrenches, safety gear, a toolbox, welding equipment, diagnostic tools, and much more.
Required Laptop
To complete assignments and run diagnostics software, Mason needs a laptop that meets specific technical requirements:
Intel Core i3 (or AMD equivalent), 2 GHz or faster
8GB RAM minimum
128GB SSD preferred
15" display, 1280x800 resolution or better
Windows 10 or macOS 10.15 or newer
Estimated cost: $800–$1,200
On-Campus Housing & ️ Meal Plan
Mason will be living on campus so he can fully immerse himself in the program. Housing and a weekly meal plan are required for residential students.
️ Cost: $6,443 per semester
️ Total for the year: ≈ $12,886
This is not covered by tuition assistance but is crucial for his success and stability throughout the program.
Books & Course Materials
Specialized training books and technical manuals are also required.
Estimated cost: $500–$800
Fundraising Goal: $18,500
Your donation will help cover:
• Mason’s full tool and safety equipment list
• A laptop that meets program standards
• Books and training materials
• On-campus housing and meals for the school year
Why It Matters
Mason is a kind, motivated, and humble young man who’s worked hard to get to this point. This opportunity means the world to him—and to all of us who believe in his potential. With your help, we can make sure he begins this journey fully equipped, stress-free, and focused on learning and growing.
If you’re able to donate—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And if you can’t, simply sharing this page with your network would mean everything.
Let’s give Mason the tools (literally!) to build a bright future. ️
With love and gratitude,
The Dubois Family
