Support Mason's Fight Against Leukemia
Donation protected
On March 21st, sweet 2 year old Mason was diagnosed with leukemia.
Mason was brought to the hospital after presenting with unexplained bruising. Initial workup found his white blood cell count at 969,000. From there, he was immediately flown to CHOP where he was intubated and underwent further testing to determine his diagnosis: T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL). Mason spent a total of nine days at CHOP and began his chemotherapy treatments. Mason will continue to receive chemo for the next two and a half years.
He was been so strong throughout this first phase of treatment! Up until this point, Mason has been attending outpatient clinic appoints twice a week - one day for blood work and transfusions, one day for chemo.
On Friday, April 19th, Mason returned to CHOP for an MRI, bone marrow test, spinal tap with chemo, and a skin biopsy to see if he is at a higher risk for different types of cancer. After returning home, his temperature spiked to 102 degrees around 6 PM. He was urgently taken back to the hospital, where he tested negative for RSV, COVID, and the flu. However, with low oxygen levels and elevated blood pressure, Mason was started on antibiotics and transported back to CHOP for further observation. We are still waiting for blood culture results at this time.
This was just the first month of what will be a long and challenging journey for Mason and our family. As we brace ourselves for the next two and a half years of treatment, we are reaching out to our community for support. The medical expenses are quickly mounting, and each day brings new challenges that we must face together.
We greatly appreciate everyone's support at this time! Please consider making a donation to help with Mason's medical expenses or sharing our story with others. Most importantly, please keep Mason in your thoughts and prayers. Every bit of support gives us strength and helps us focus on what matters most - helping Mason fight this battle and recover fully!
