Hi everyone, my name is Jon and I am at a complete loss at this point in time. Usually, I am not the one to ask for help, but I am desperate and do not know what else to do.

I am currently completing my last clinical rotation in SC and of course brought my two French Bulldogs, Mia and Mason, with me. We were out for our normal afternoon/evening walk when Mason started displaying signs of labored breathing. As this was fairly common within their breed, I monitored him on our way home, which is when things took a turn for the worse. Within 5 minutes, Mason was turning purple and becoming less and less responsive. I rushed him to the closest emergency vet as he was in critical condition, and upon arrival, the technicians immediately took him back to triage him while I anxiously waited for an update.

The doctor came out shortly, discussing his current medical status and guarded prognosis. His temperature was 107.1 and he was not alert or responsive during triage. She told me the extensive list of concerns ranging from liver failure to permanent brain damage and then followed with the costly estimate of $8,135 - $12,143 in order to treat him. Having a background in Vet Med, I knew the possibilities were endless and we would not know the extent of the damage until he was stable. I knew that I had to do anything and everything I could in order to give him a fighting chance.

He is not medically stable as of yet and is experiencing some neurologic symptoms, but I will continue to receive and post updates as they come. In order to proceed with the treatment, I had to pay half of the high-end estimate as a deposit, totaling $6,071. I truthfully am lost thinking of not being able to do everything possible for him.

I am simply asking for help to give him the best possible chance and help me make that happen. Anything anyone is able to help with would be extremely appreciated. I am hoping with some help I will be able to give him the crucial care he needs and get him back home. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my story.
