I'm raising money to help fund some of my beloved companion's veterinary costs. My dog, Mason, is an 11 year old toy poodle, and he's been one of the most important parts of my life ever since I was 12 years old. He's an older dog, but he'll always be my baby. He's still full of energy at his current age and loves to play—and of course he's even mischevious sometimes. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that this little guy has saved my life, with how much joy he's brought to my life. I would be a different person had we never adopted Mason. Mason is a very important family member, and I love and cherish him deeply.

My family has always struggled with money for various reasons, but it has been especially bad in the past 5 years. It's a struggle to make ends meet for us, and it is a time of financial hardship. I am a college student, and the difficulty of my classes as a student studying Computer Science, along with my several documented disabilities, it is already a struggle for me to stay afloat as is. I struggle to afford food sometimes. I do not have the means to be able to seek employment in my current situation.

But despite everything, I want my companion to be able to live the last few years of his life as healthily and happily as he can. Mason has begun developing cataracts over the past few years, and it has reached a stage where I cannot push it aside any longer. It is most prominent in his left eye, and he has a very obvious cloudy white film covering nearly his whole eye. It has also had a prominent affect on his vision—Mason is visually impaired at this stage. He can still see, but not very well. He often nearly runs into furniture or other obstacles, and when I play with him, he loses track of his toys despite them being just a few inches away, right in front of him. It breaks my heart and crushes my soul to see him like this, and to know that if only we had more money, things may have developed differently. I also have some concerns for his safety as he gets older, as visual impairment can lead to a handful of other complications and will affect his overall quality of life. I am also afraid of it developing into glaucoma.

And so, I am kindly requesting donations as a last resort. If you can find it in your heart to spare a dollar or two for Mason's treatment, I implore you to please donate if you are able to do so. I would be very grateful. Funds raised will go to his veterinary costs, including taking Mason to the vet to receive his official diagnosis, cover any pre-op tests and their costs, and help contribute to the overall cost of the surgery. I plan on providing periodic updates on Mason as time goes by if all goes well. We would be truly grateful and appreciative to receive any form of help at all.
