Support Mason McCarther's Cultural Journey Abroad

Hello everyone! My name is Mason McCarther. Like other high schoolers, I stay busy (just ask my parents!). In addition to focusing on my schoolwork in the high school engineering program, I am a member of our school's Concert Band and the Boys' Varsity Tennis Team. I am also active within my church and various community service activities.

Throughout the years, I have always enjoyed learning about cultures and taking part in new experiences. In middle school, I gained a lot of insight into the Spanish language and culture. Last year, I had the opportunity to participate in Hampton University's Young Diplomat Program which focused on African culture, diplomacy and economic development. In my spare time, I enjoy following the professional soccer teams of the world, watching Anime, and have even attempted to learn Japanese. These experiences were great but they have all been within the domestic United States. For the first time, I have the opportunity to travel abroad with my classmates and experience other cultures ... first-hand ... to France, England, and Scotland!

I have never traveled outside of the country, but I know my upcoming trip in July 2025 will be a once in a lifetime experience to see the art, architecture, history and cuisine of Europe.
