Marysa Silverstone is a talented Juilliard-trained jazz pianist who has dedicated her life to sharing music with her community. After moving from New York City in 1976, she became a beloved figure in the Bay Area, performing at schools, senior centers, festivals, and cultural events. For 20 years, she ran the Kenyatta Academy of Music, teaching students of all ages and inspiring countless people through her passion for music.


A few months ago, Marysa suffered a serious fall in her home and was unable to get up. She was found by emergency personnel after a friend requested a welfare check. Since then, she has been living in a rehabilitation center, working hard to regain her mobility through physical therapy. Despite her efforts, progress has been slow, and she remains unable to walk. Marysa continues to lift the spirits of those around her by playing piano daily in the community room for other patients, visitors, and staff.


Marysa is now seeking acupuncture treatments, which have helped her health in the past. Unfortunately, these treatments are not covered by her insurance and must be paid for out of pocket. The rehabilitation center will allow an acupuncturist to visit, but the cost is significant and Marysa needs ongoing treatments.
