My mom Mary was healthy and independent, but everything changed in an instant when she suffered a severe stroke. Now, she struggles to speak and write, and she’s staying in a convalescent hospital as she begins her long road to recovery. She also has to relearn how to walk and will need special foods to support her healing. It’s been overwhelming to see her go through this, and I want to do everything I can to help her regain her strength and independence.
The funds raised will go directly toward paying for Mary’s convalescent hospital care, as well as the therapy she needs—both speech and physical. We’re also hoping to get her a new bed, a speech machine, special foods, and other essentials to make her more comfortable and support her recovery at home. This sudden crisis has put me behind on many expenses, especially since we were in the process of moving when this happened. Visiting Mary is also a challenge, as I don’t have a car and the hospital is 15 miles away, but I do everything I can to be there for her and help her smile.
I want to thank everyone for their support—it truly means so much to both of us. If you’re able to help in any way, it would make a world of difference for Mary’s recovery and our family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
