For as long as we can remember, our mom, Mary Giger, has been someone who shows up for others—without hesitation, without expectation, and always with love. As her daughters, Courtney Giger and Olivia St. Clair, we’ve had the privilege of watching her spend her life pouring her faith, time, and energy into her community, her church, and the countless people whose lives she’s touched.
Growing up, one of the things that defined our mom most was her voice. It wasn’t just that she loved to sing—it’s that her voice brought joy, comfort, and connection to everyone around her. It has always been a part of who she is, and a gift she has shared so freely.
Now at 74, she continues to live with that same servant’s heart, but she’s facing something incredibly difficult. Due to failed dental caps, she’s suffered many broken teeth, leaving her with just three top front teeth. An additional two teeth are broken at the gums, and one gold molar remains for her top teeth. The rest have quite literally fallen out. As you can imagine, this has made everyday things like eating painful and stressful, and it has taken a deep emotional toll. Perhaps the hardest part for her, and for us to witness, is that it has made our beautiful and vibrant mother self-conscious in social situations.
Singing is also very difficult, and seeing her lose something that has brought her so much joy—and has meant so much to others—is truly heartbreaking.
Unfortunately, insurance has already been exhausted on the initial procedures, and the cost to restore her smile and give her the ability to eat normally again means costly implants—estimated between $16,000 and $20,000. Even though she continues to work, this is an overwhelming burden.
Our mom has spent her entire life lifting others up. Now, we’re asking for help to lift her up during this time.
Any support—whether through a donation or simply sharing her story—means more than we can express. We just want to help give her back her smile, her confidence, and her voice.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for taking the time to read her story. It truly means the world to our family.
