For more than 40 years, Dennis Day was a cherished part of the Outer Banks restaurant community. From Kelly’s Restaurant to Ocean Boulevard Bistro and Martini Bar to The Tap Shack in Duck, Dennis was known for his exceptional bartending, infectious smile, and quick wit. With a voice like a radio announcer and a presence that filled any room, he created countless memories for locals and visitors alike.

Over the past decade, Dennis and his wife Maryna have endured increasingly complex and debilitating health challenges. Sadly, these struggles ultimately claimed Dennis’s life just weeks before his 60th birthday. After more than twenty years of marriage, Maryna has now lost not only her husband, but her primary source of stability and support. She faces immediate and urgent needs, including housing, food, and assistance with final arrangements. Due to Dennis’s long illness and her own health challenges, she has very limited resources and is relying heavily on the support of the community that Dennis loved and served for so many years.
