Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was in a truly tragic accident on Friday, the 18th of July.
She went into septic shock early in the AM and collapsed while the family was asleep.
When she was discovered by her daughter, she had collapsed from her bed onto the floor next to her space heater which malfunctioned and did not shut off from overheating, causing the full sickness 3rd degree burns on her body.
Due to the septic shock, the family was assured that she was unconscious during the incident and did not feel the burning and did not suffer during that period of time that she was on the floor.
Due to her age and severe chronic medical conditions, the Doctors advised the severity of her burns and the treatment required was beyond what her body could withstand.
We were informed by the doctor that putting her through burn treatment would be barbaric and my mother Christina had to make the difficult choice to place her on hospice and end her suffering.
She was then moved from ICU to hospice in IMC, to pass away in the presence of loved ones.
She passed away July 24th at 8pm surrounded by her family.
This has been so tragic for our family, friends, and loved ones who all adore Mary-Kay so deeply.
She was a selfless, beautiful soul who is going to be missed beyond words.
Her compassion for people was beyond anyone we have ever known.
She loved all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren so deeply.
She loved ALL children so deeply.
Her burial plot is waiting for her in California next to her husband, William Jay Williams, and her parents, Leonard Verile and Mary Livingston.
We are asking for assistance to transport her from Utah to California to her final resting place.
We have to pay someone to transport her body across state lines in a registered vehicle, which requires specific papers, requirements and licensing.
On top of the cost of her burial, flowers and other funeral expenses.
We need to return her to the community that she loved so much. Where she was a beloved librarian at Tunnel Elementary School for 20+ years.
She served her community as the Primary president of the LDS church.
Where she regularly donated her time, talents, and sewing/cooking skills to charity and was a truly beloved member of the church.
We miss her so deeply already, and the suddenness of her death and the amount of time our family will need to take off to get her to her final resting place, with the cost of hotel and transportation, will be vastly beyond our means.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Our family will be forever thankful to every single one of you.
We will miss you, forever.
- her loving family
