Support MaryJo Jenkins' Battle with Breast Cancer

My name is Leigh Ann Socha, I am from Cheboygan and my sister lives in the Sault.

My sister, MaryJo Jenkins, was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer earlier this year. It is a very aggressive and fast-growing cancer. She has been a real warrior and would never ask for help. She has completed 5 1/2 months of strong chemotherapy and recently had a double mastectomy. Throughout her chemotherapy and after her surgery, she continued to push herself and work 40 hours a week to help alleviate the financial burden on her family. Since her surgery, she has struggled with recovery and has had multiple infections. Unfortunately, she needs to take time off work to recover. She also still needs to make weekly trips to Ann Arbor (a 5-hour trip one way) for medical appointments and will require another surgery. Her husband also needs to take time off work to go to these appointments with her. With the time off work she needs to recover, her husband needing to take time off work, the cost to travel for appointments, and medical bills are putting a financial burden on her and her family. She also has a teenage son and two younger children at home that she is trying to care for. A cancer diagnosis can cause a family a lot of financial burden and even more stress during the holidays.

I am hoping to help her cover her high deductible for next year and her travel expenses as she needs to stay at a hotel on top of it when in Ann Arbor since such a drive.
