Mary's case is complicated and will likely be very expensive. Lawyers have told Mary that the fees will likely amount to around $20,000. This includes retainer fees, hourly fees, and court filing costs.

Mary is a hard worker and a devoted wife and mother. She works several jobs to support her family. She has raised her children here in the U.S. The U.S. is her home. She is being summoned to court for illegal entry to the U.S. in the 1990s. She has since married an American citizen and has received her green card. But none of this seems to matter to the current administration. Sending her back to El Salvador would be devastating.
