On June 24, 2018 Tom and Mary Stewart were aboard their boat, Wind Spirit, cooking at Duncan Bay Boat Club in Cheboygan, MI when they experienced a propane explosion. Both Tom and Mary received 2nd degree burns due to this explosion. Tom was rushed to the ICU Burn Unit at Hurley Hospital in Flint, MI. Sadly, after a week's stay, Tom passed away on July 1 from complications brought on by the severe burns. Mary continues to recover from her own injuries, and has a long road ahead of her.
