Mary Redfield Nicolosi is a devoted mother, loyal friend, and incredibly strong woman who is going through one of the hardest times of her life. Mary has been battling Lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease that has taken a serious toll on her body, her independence, and her ability to work.

What began as manageable with treatment has now progressed significantly. Mary’s knees are in constant pain, her balance is unstable, and she now uses a cane to prevent falls. The disease has begun to affect her organs due to untreated inflammation, and daily life has become an uphill battle.

Last year, she was receiving monthly infusions that helped keep her symptoms under control. But in June 2024, Mary lost her job — and with it, her health insurance. Without coverage, the infusions stopped, and her condition began to decline rapidly. The progress she had made was undone, and she was left without the resources to continue care.

Why Mary Needs Help

Mary has worked in property management for years, but the physical demands of the job — walking properties, handling inspections, meeting with tenants — are no longer possible given her current health. She’s now actively applying for customer service and remote jobs that will allow her to work while managing her condition. Still, finding something stable is taking time, and she’s struggling just to meet her most basic needs.

She’s also a single mother doing everything she can to support her 19-year-old daughter, who is currently attending Georgia State University. Despite her own health battles, Mary continues to focus on providing a sense of security and opportunity for her daughter — but it’s become incredibly difficult to do so alone.

Mary is now falling behind on rent, utilities, and groceries. She's facing an urgent financial crisis at the exact time when her health demands rest, recovery, and care.
