Update!!!

Mesenteric ischemia is an uncommon and serious medical condition that happens when parts of your digestive system don't get enough blood flow and oxygen, causing severe pain, malnutrition and dehydration.

Tomorrow, Friday August 16th, I will be having surgery to balloon open the arteries to provide some relief until I can have the aortic bypass. I’m asking for your prayers. She has been dealing with significant health problems over the past year, and now it is our turn to help her.

Hi, my name is Jordan Lewison, and Mary is my Momma. Her story began on May 12, 2023, when she underwent an aortic bypass for mesenteric ischemia. This surgery was very complex and difficult. Her health has spiraled downward ever since that day. She just got out of St. Mary’s hospital on Friday June 14th after her 6th admission this year alone. She has been admitted to the hospital several times for infection, malnutrition and dehydration. In January of this year, she was admitted only to receive the news that the bypass graft had failed. Her vascular surgeon has been able to stabilize her and continues to watch her closely until the surgery can be repeated to fix the failed graft. However, the health problems continue to stack against her with kidney surgeries, stomach infections, malnutrition, malabsorption, and debilitating pain. Through all of this she struggles to work at her full-time job. As you can imagine, 10 hospitalizations since May 2023 (4 in 2023 and 6 in 2024) have created substantial medical bills.
