Dear Friends and Family,
It is with both a heavy heart and unwavering hope that we share the news of Mary Kay Pederson’s recent diagnosis of stage 3 ovarian cancer. As many of you know, Mary Kay has dedicated much of her life to being a beacon of strength and advocacy for others, tirelessly working through Cancer Families United and lobbying in Washington D.C. on behalf of children fighting this relentless disease. Now, it is our time to rally around her with the same fervor and support.
Mary Kay’s treatment journey will begin next week with a 21-week cycle that includes surgery. Although the road ahead is uncertain and challenging, we remain hopeful for remission and a brighter future. The treatment and recovery process is expected to span six to eight months, requiring all the support and love we can muster.
Throughout the years, Mary Kay has shown us the power of community, compassion, and resilience. She has been a guiding light for so many, and now, as she faces this personal battle, we have the opportunity to reflect that light back to her. Since medical bills are sure to be stacking up, and the ability to work will be equally challenging, anything you are able to give will be vital in supporting MK, her husband Corey, and their two daughters, Emma and Abby in her battle. As you all know, Emma is a cancer survivor herself, and this family plans to rise again and meet every challenge head-on as they have before.
We kindly ask for your prayers, positive thoughts, and any support you can offer – be it emotional, physical, or financial. Together, we can help Mary Kay navigate this journey with the strength and courage she has always demonstrated. Let us come together to lift her up, just as she has lifted so many others.
Thank you for being a part of her life and for standing by her side during this time. Your love and support mean the world to Mary Kay and to all of us who cherish her.
