Mary Kay Miller, CNM, DNP, FACNM - Needs our support

If you know Mary Kay you know she will do anything for anybody. She has been a relentless advocate for midwifery in FL for decades, faculty at FNU, and supporter of choice for childbearing families. It’s time to do something for her.

Hurricane Helene’s storm surge washed ashore along Pinellas County from both the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay, filling streets and flooding homes on both sides of the county. They live on Madeira Beach. From Mary Kay: "We have our car, one week of clothes, and medicines -that’s where we’re at. We are at a friend’s house, a wonderful client friend. We have not been back to the house. They won’t let us on yet. My neighbor that stayed told us we were totaled and lost everything. I’m holding out some hope that there will be some things to salvage. I can’t believe it, we lost everything. The flood was so bad, and the waters were rushing so bad they went everywhere, and we could get nothing out. The neighbors that stayed and live upstairs lost their cars and everything on the bottom level. I been on hold with Red Cross two separate occasions an hour and a half and I have not gotten through yet. I’m doing my walks, my meditation, and trying to keep my mind OK because it is only materials! Chris my husband, and Jacob our son lives with us. We have been there almost 11 years on Gulf Boulevard."

As a past president of ACNM, having worked with Mary Kay on many projects, I have started this GoFund Me to help her and her family immediately access needed funds for the weeks ahead. Funds will go to find sustainable housing, food, medication and clothing. The need is urgent. For validation of this GoFundMe I live in Kansas City, not in Florida.
