Hello everyone,

This fundraiser is organized by a trusted friend in Canada on behalf of Mary Joy, an independent animal rescuer in the Philippines, since GoFundMe is not directly supported in her country. All funds raised will go directly to the rescued animals under her care.

Mary Joy is a solo rescuer currently caring for 59 rescued dogs and 22 rescued cats. She rescues not only dogs but also abandoned and neglected cats from the streets. Many of them were sick, malnourished, injured, or left to die when they were found. She does not have staff or volunteers. It is only her and her family managing the daily care — feeding, cleaning, transporting animals to the vet, giving medicines, and handling emergencies.

There is no big organization behind her, no sponsors, and no paid team. Just a small family trying to save as many lives as they can. Right now, there is an urgent medical crisis. Four rescued dogs urgently need chemotherapy (3–4 sessions each), and another rescued dog, Dagul, needs treatment for his eyes. The veterinarian has prepared the first batch of chemotherapy medicine, and treatment is about to begin. However, completing the full course of treatment is financially overwhelming.

We are setting the fundraising goal at $4500*** to cover:

• Chemotherapy sessions (4 dogs, 3–4 sessions each)

• Eye treatment for Dagul

• Consultation fees

• Professional fees

• Medicines

• Transportation

• Follow-up care

• Platform and transfer fees (including GoFundMe and PayPal processing fees)

Because of processing and international transfer fees, the total goal has been adjusted to ensure the full medical amount needed for the animals is received. Caring for 81 rescued animals daily already stretches resources to the limit. Chemotherapy is extremely expensive, and Mary Joy does not know how she will manage this alone.

Her birthday is on February 27, and her only wish is for the rescued animals under her care to heal and survive. This fundraiser will also serve as an emergency medical fund to help sustain her ongoing rescue advocacy for both dogs and cats. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference.
