Support Mary Ann's Healing Journey

Hi, my name is Dan Rau, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my amazing mother, Mary Ann Rau. Two months ago, Mary Ann underwent a Whipple surgery to treat a serious health condition. While the surgery itself was a success, unfortunately, she has faced complications that have caused her to remain in the hospital far longer than anticipated. Her recovery has been slower and more challenging, leading to mounting medical costs that she simply cannot manage on her own.

My mom is an incredible woman—kind, compassionate, and always radiating positivity and silliness. She spent her life as a dedicated teacher, shaping young minds and inspiring students to reach their fullest potential. She also has a heart that’s as big as the world. In her retirement, she found joy in tutoring children and advocating for vulnerable kids in the foster care system as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). Unfortunately, due to her health issues, she had to stop both of these roles before her surgery, which has added extra emotional and financial stress to an already overwhelming situation.

Mary Ann has always been the one that people turn to for support, love, and a good laugh. Whether she was helping a child with their homework, volunteering her time to protect children in foster care, or simply being there for a friend in need, she poured her heart into everything she did. Now, it’s our turn to help her.
