Over the past year, Mary and her family have been navigating an incredibly difficult and unexpected medical journey. Mary has been diagnosed with a rare autoimmune neurological condition that causes frequent seizures and requires ongoing treatment, hospital visits, and intensive care. Her condition is unpredictable and has significantly impacted daily life for her and her family.
For safety reasons, Mary’s driver’s license was medically suspended due to her seizures. This has created additional daily challenges, as Philip has become the primary driver for medical appointments, school needs, errands, and all household responsibilities on top of being her main source of support.
During this same time, Philip experienced a wrongful job termination. As Mary’s health declined, he stepped fully into the role of caregiver while continuing to care for their children and manage the household. The combination of lost income, increasing medical needs, and added transportation responsibilities has created a level of financial strain no family plans for.
Because Mary’s condition requires flexibility and consistent support at home, Philip made the difficult but intentional decision to start a small business that would allow him to work around her treatment schedule and remain present for his family. While this path offers long-term stability, building a business from the ground up comes with upfront costs and a season of tight finances before it becomes fully sustainable.
This fundraiser is meant to help bridge that gap to provide temporary stability as Mary continues treatment and as their family works toward more secure footing. Funds will go towards essential needs, medical expenses, prescriptions, and easing the financial pressure during this difficult time.
The Hampton family is doing everything they can to move forward with strength and hope. Mary continues to fight courageously through treatment, and Philip is working tirelessly to build a flexible future for their family.
If you feel led to support them during this season, any contribution or share is deeply appreciated.
