Mary Wanjiru Nyambura, from Kenya, went viral on July 17, 2021, after a neighbor recorded a video of her being thrown from the second floor by her Arabian employer. The footage circulated the internet, revealing the horrifying abuse she endured, which left her paralyzed. Mary had traveled to Saudi Arabia with the promise of a job, only to find herself trapped in a nightmare of modern-day human trafficking. Hired as a domestic worker, she quickly realized she was not just an employee but a prisoner, subjected to horrific abuse and living in constant fear. Locked in her room, denied food, stripped of her passport, and forced to work under inhumane conditions, Mary uncovered disturbing secrets about her employers, including evidence of past violence against former maids. She even overheard a chilling confession of murder. When she refused to comply with their demands, her employer threw her from the second floor, severely damaging her spinal cord. But God was not done with Mary—she survived. Mary now relies mostly on her kids, and she can eat when her teenage daughter washes clothes for others and brings food home. Attached is a YouTube video detailing her full story.
Hello, my name is Temilore Olajide. I am a political science major with a double concentration in International Politics and Pre-Law. Most importantly, I am a servant of God. I always ask God to bless me so that I can be a blessing to others. I watch documentaries about global issues to gain insight into my field of study, and I have a deep interest in hidden stories. When I came across Mary’s story, I was not only moved emotionally but also stirred by the Holy Spirit. I felt led to donate and pray for her, but I soon realized she had no outlet to receive donations. That’s when I decided to start one—so here we are.
God, please have Your way in this. I know You as a helper, a friend, and the One who hears our cries. I thank You for this opportunity. If you feel led to donate, share, or send a prayer, it would be greatly appreciated. I also video chat with Mary via WhatsApp, so if you would like to speak with her, please reach out to me, and I can arrange that. Be blessed on today, and thank you all for your time.
